Optimising aerodynamic wind and weather protection has been a major priority for the developers at BMW Motorrad for decades. This has led to further improvements in features such as the new R 1200 GS windscreen, which offers enhanced wind and weather protection and is easily adjustable thanks to the convenient adjuster knob located near the instrument cluster, designed in line with ergonomic principles.
Technical calibration is performed using BMW Motorrad's patented worm gear mechanism. Comprehensive research in wind tunnels has led to significant reductions in wind noise levels (-5dB(A) at 180 km/h with the windscreen up) and swirl around the head area for both the driver and pillion passenger.
A tinted windscreen is available as a special accessory.
